Former Norwich Defender Takes Charge of Rangers

Steven Smith, a former Norwich City defender, will take charge of Rangers when they face Dundee United.

Smith, 40, replaces Russell Martin, his ex-Canaries team-mate, on an interim basis after Martin was sacked 123 days into his time as head coach.

Smith has been overseeing first-team training since Martin's departure and will now be in the Ibrox dugout when Dundee United visits.

The pursuit of Kevin Muscat is ongoing, but his future is complicated by his current side Shanghai Port and a title race that might not end until November 22.

Author's summary: Steven Smith takes interim charge of Rangers.
